Back in the 1970s, two dermatologists, Dr. Albert Kligman and Dr. James Fulton, developed a system to assess how likely cosmetic ingredients were to clog pores. This system, called the Comedogenic index, has since evolved into a 0-5 rating scale, where a 0 means an ingredient is highly unlikely to cause clogged pores, and a 5 indicates it's practically guaranteed to do so.
Here’s a little something you might not know: coconut oil actually scores a 4 on the comedogenic index. That’s pretty high, meaning it’s very likely to clog your pores.
Good news though! We formulate LAAYCA products without coconut oil, so they’re suitable for all skin types. If you would like to learn more about Comedogenic index, feel free to click the “Learn More” button below. Otherwise, keep scrolling to learn more about Cloudberry Body Cream’s absorb score.

Our "Absorb Score"
We’ve made things even simpler with our “Absorb Score.” This score is basically an average of the Comedogenic Index ratings for all the ingredients in a product. It gives you a quick idea of how well, for example, our Cloudberry Body Cream will absorb into your skin without clogging your pores. This way, you can spend less time worrying and more time enjoying all the nourishing benefits our Cloudberry Body Cream has to offer. And to help with that, we’ve included a little summary below!
